Jaques Louis David

Very historical guy.

I don't remember about him that much, but that painting of Marat is just engraved in my head.

Jackie Chan

He is the director of many of his movies.

Many of which I love.

My mom would say things like how Jackie Chan isn't even that good looking but he beat all other talented and good looking actors by just working very very hard.

I mean, look at his movies... I'm surprised his still not dead...

Andy Warhol

I don't like Andy Warhol.

I don't get Pop Art!!!

Brian Lee O'Malley

I read good reviews about this so I wanted to try it

but there was only second volume at the library when I went.

So I read that but it was quite boring.

Well, I didn't understand the story.

It's pretty over the top, so I didn't understand the gag.

But later I did.

They have a movie of this. It's showing in Commons theatre next week.

Bob Ross

I'm afraid everybody would know him.

But surprisingly, a lot of young kids these days don't know this guy.

Very sad.

He is famous in Korea too. So even I know him :D

I heard he was in Vietnam War. It was so horrible to him, that he started to paint.

Atleast thats what I heard.

Imhotep

I wrote a paper about this guy when I was in middle school

and ever since then was interested in him.

He was an architect, doctor, chancellor, and other things.

He built some of the first step pyramids.

It makes me wonder how one man can do so many jobs and do so well in it.

In that age when algebra was the newest technology,

he managed to make out calculations to build a pyramid.

Duchamp

As people around me talk about found art and Dadaism,

they kept reminding me of Duchamp.

It would be nice to study his works before I make some of my own found art.

Janine Antoni

She uses her body to create all her works.

I went to her lecture on Tuesday and learned couple things.

It was intersting how her works were all extremely personal.

Tatsumi Yoshihiro

My advisor advised me to read this while talking about comics.

The story is very dark, but the art is very good.

Park Chan Wook

I recently watched this epic movie Old Boy.

I have heard about this movie many times before, but the kids talking about it in the English class gave me the final push to watch it.

It was dark and twisted.

ANYBODY WHO STILL HAVEN'T WATCHED IT SHOULD

The movie was remake of this manga from Japan.

Many Koreans don't like the movie because it was originally Japanease story.

I liked the movie anyhow.

Theyre also making a Hollywood version of it.

Koen Demuynck

Comical, exagerated, and CGed.

David Lindsey Wade

This one personally made me laugh. It's ridiculous. in a good way. reminds me of ninjas, but they are modern police.

pierre beteille

Nancy Lang

Performance artist.... of some sort.

She says herself is an artwork and people somehow agree.... but I think it's bunch of bs...

But many people love her and her works(which is her...), so I thought this was interesting.

It's quite interesting. check it out.

unknown artist

I typed in "Korean contemporary art" and this came out.

I'm not sure who the author is... I guess it is various people.

It's made for China-Korea art exchange exbition or something.

Anyway I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nickolas Stoller

I went to the commons theatre last week and watched this moive.

It was awesome.

Jackson Pollick

One of my friend used to be so angry at Pollock's work.

I like it though.

miyazaki hayao

...By now, I'm out of artists to talk of.

So, I'm just going to post about artists that I think anybody would know, but I liked, and still talk about them nonetheless.

Miyazaki Hayao is probably the best animation director in Japan..

All the kids loves his movies. Everybody!

His studio is like Disney's of America.

He recently retired, though, and other members of the studio will continue the great work.

Masa, Korean webtoon artist

Masa is a webtoon artist who uses his narrative skills to get fans.

His art works are the above two drawings, which is better than average people, but still not that good.

But his stories make up all of it.

He currently has few contracts of manga that is published where he wrties the story and another artist draws the drawings.

The below drawing is of one of his coworker's

You can actually check out one of his works in english at

This is one of Masa's most famous work...

But it is also his "experimental" one. The quality of drawing is very low to say least..(it is drawn basically so that you just understands the story.)

But the story should be good.

Peter Lee

Concept artist of Blizzard entertainment.

Mostly backgrounds.

I've heard people say that he's probably the best in his trade.

Filippo Brunelleschi

Renaissance architect (used to be sculptor).

Invented many ingenuities that aloud people to make better art, build bigger domes... etc.

Used to sculpt, but lost to his rival in an important contest, moved to architecture, and became bigger than his rival.

Da vinchi

I don't really care that much of his paintings, but I just love the fact that he tried to invent the helicopter and wrote backwards in his notes...

P.S. I don't really get why people say Mona Lisa is beautiful. she looks pretty ugly to me.

Michelangelo

Beautiful.

I would probably kill whoever forces me to do all that work though.

Do Ho Suh

A Korean American.

Abstract sculptor.

He talks a lot about his personal troubles as an immigrant to USA.

I can relate to his works a lot.
